official trailer for Colony From executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”) comes USA’s newest, highly-anticipated drama COLONY. Set in the very near future, COLONY centers on one family’s struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles. SAG winner Josh Holloway (“Lost”) stars as former FBI agent Will Bowman and Satellite Award winner Sarah Wayne Callies (“The Walking Dead”) stars as his wife, Katie, in the series which takes place in a dangerous world of divided ideologies. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel and suffer the consequences. After being separated from their son during the invasion, Will and Katie are willing to do whatever is necessary to be reunited with him. Thus, when the powerful Proxy Snyder (Peter Jacobson, “House”) offers Will a chance to get his son back if he will collaborate with the occupational government, Will and Katie find themselves faced with the toughest decision of their lives. They will have to go beyond whatever they thought possible, risking their lives and their relationship to protect their family. Tuesdays 🤍 10pm E/P on Discovery New to The Colony? Watch how the Colonists build back: 🤍 What would you do in the wake of a global catastrophe? How would you find food? Water? Shelter? The Colony is a controlled experiment to see exactly what it would take to survive and rebuild under these circumstances. For 10 weeks, a group of 10 volunteers, whose backgrounds and expertise represent a cross-section of modern society, are isolated in an urban environment outside Los Angeles and tasked with creating a livable society. With no electricity from the grid, no running water and no communication with the outside world, all the volunteers have to work with are their skills and whatever tools and supplies they can scavenge from their surroundings. Experts from the fields of homeland security, engineering and psychology have helped design the world of The Colony to reflect elements from both real-life disasters and models of what the future could look like after a global viral outbreak. Over the course of the 10-week experiment, the Colonists must work together to build the necessities of survival, such as a water-filtration system, a battery bank that powered their electricity, a solar cooker, a shower system and a greenhouse and even some niceties (a coffee maker!). These are the red imported fire ants (RIFA) which are harmful to the environment and their nests are exterminated by the millions in the United States using poisons, fire and boiling water. -Colony Ridge, an illegal alien housing settlement, explained. -Texans for Fiscal Responsibility call for abolishing property taxes in a special session. -Prosper ISD to build a nearly $100 million stadium with taxpayer-backed debt. I want to talk about Colony Ridge, the illegal alien housing settlement right here in Texas. We briefly mentioned it yesterday after the Republican Party of Texas unanimously called on the legislature to take action to shut it down. But if you haven’t seen any of those stories, it’s worth learning about because this is happening right here in Texas. Right outside a major metropolitan area. And so far, nothing is being done about it. Liberty County, just North of Houston, is home to the fastest-growing Hispanic population in the country and one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas. In 2020, the Colony Ridge settlement included approximately 20,000 residents and now includes an estimated 75,000. Colony Ridge is known for its dealings and associations with Gulf and Sinaloa cartels. In 2013, 300 acres of Liberty County lands were used to host the “largest and most sophisticated marijuana-growing operation” in U.S. history. The area broke another record in July 2021, when the Drug Enforcement Administration raided a multimillion-dollar methamphetamine manufacturing lab in Colony Ridge. Terrenos Houston, the marketing program for Colony Ridge, advertises to illegal aliens by indicating they do not require traditional bank loans, nor do they need Social Security numbers or a proven job history. Instead, they operate through owner-financed lots for illegal aliens who don’t qualify for certain loans. These are called ITIN loans, because you don’t need a social security number, you just need an inidividual tax identification number, which anyone can get. The company is particularly active on international media platforms and produces marketing videos in Spanish, promoting incentives like discounts and video tours of their new schools. Such a massive influx of children has created the need for more schools, with the land development company building six for Cleveland Independent School District thus far. Their enrollment, by the way, has increased from 6,584 students to 12,400 over the course of four years. Which is putting a major strain on the area and the citizens who call it home. And then there is the crime. According to an investigation by the Daily Wire, there is limited law enforcement presence in the area. Additionally, the Gulf and Sinaloa cartels have reportedly purchased land in the development to set up safe houses. And just today we have a report on the local school district warning parents of recent fentanyl overdoses by students in the district. Some have compared the development to a colonia, which the Texas Attorney General defines as “substandard housing developments, often found along the Texas-Mexico border; where residents lack basic services such as drinking water, sewage treatment, and paved roads.” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Attorney General Ken Paxton have both been asked about this in recent interviews, with both saying it’s something the legislature may act on. But will they have the opportunity? That depends on Gov. Greg Abbott. Any moment now, and I really mean any moment, the governor is expected to announce a special session of the legislature. These can only be on issues he chooses. Should he choose to do so, he could add legislation to crack down on ITIN loans to the call. That’s his choice. In any case, until something is done, not only will Colony Ridge keep expanding. But the next illegal alien settlement could be coming to your own backyard. * Speaking of special sessions, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is asking the governor to add the elimination of property taxes to a special session call. In a letter to Gov. Abbott, the group writes: As a part of your reelection campaign, while participating in the gubernatorial debate in September of 2022, you stated: “My goal is to eliminate the school property tax that’s imposed in the State of Texas, so that people can genuinely own their own home, without being taxed out of it.” You also expressed support for a pathway to school Maintenance and Operations property tax elimination when you officially included it in your original second special session call, issued on June 27th of this year.” While the legislature did meet earlier this summer for 2 special sessions on property tax relief, ultimately only $12 billion was put towards that plan, even though the state faced a surplus of over $31 billion. Texans for Fiscal Responsibility also asked Governor Abbott to also include spending limitations on local governments and the abolition of taxpayer-funded lobbying on the special session call.

A Tamil remake of the film, starring Prabhu was released in 1994 under the same title Vietnam Colony. G. Krishnamoorthy (Mohanlal), hailing from an orthodox Tamil Brahmin community, gets a job with Calcutta Constructions as a supervisor. Calcutta Company has been working to restructure their land by vacating an illegal colony lying adjacent to its premise. Popularly known as Vietnam Colony, it is inhabited mainly by day laborers. The company has been in efforts to demolish the colony for long time, but failed to do so. The colony is now under the rule a few hardcore criminals to whom the residents have to pay specific amount every week. Now, Krishnamoorthy is appointed by company to evacuate the colony, by dealing with these criminals. He is assisted by K.K Joseph (Innocent). Both arrive at the colony under the disguise of professional writers planning to write a story on the life of the colony residents. Upon arrival, both enter the house of Pattalam Madhavi Amma (K. P. A. C. Lalitha) in search of a house, but she mistakes them to have come to see her daughter Unnimol(Kanaka) and calls Unni to bring tea and snacks. But after knowing about the goof happened, she lets them stay on the top floor of her house. Upon the advice of Erumely (Kuthiravattam Pappu), the broker, Madhavi Amma believes that with time, her daughter might fall in love with Krishnamoorthy and might get married to this educated Brahmin man. In the coming days, Krishnamoorthy befriends various members of the colony and tries to read out their idea about vacating the colony. But he realizes that it is not an easy task to evacuate the people and thinks about different plans to be operated. From Madhavi Amma, Krishnamoorthy comes to know that the entire colony was owned by Moosa Sait (Nedumudi Venu), a millionaire, who even gave up his mom for money. Suhra Bai (Philomina), his mother is now living a pathetic life inside the colony. Krishnamoorthy meets up with Paravoor Rauthar (Rajkumar), Irumbu John (Bheeman Raghu) and Kannappa Srank, the criminal leaders who are now controlling the colony. One night, Rauthar kicks Surabai in a fit of rage and she is killed. To get her final rituals done, Krishnamoorthy sets out in search of Moosa Sait, but is shocked to find Advocate Thomas (Devan), the legal adviser of his company in Sait's Bungalow. More shocked he was, when saw Moosa Sait, now living on streets like a beggar. Moosa Sait tells Krishnamoorthy that he was duped by Thomas, who by crook owned up his whole property including his house. Krishnamoorthy brings in Sait to the colony and make him do the last rites of his mother. In the meantime Unni, falls in lov with Krishnamoorthy. He slowly realizes the fact that the company is illegally trying to own up the land, while the justice is on the side of colony residents. He decides to support the people in their fight for justice. But Company join hands with the criminal leaders to finish off Krishnamoorthy. He is attacked by the criminal gang, but Krishnamoorthy succeeds in finishing them off and bringing justice to the people.
